Fire damages trader’s Binondo condo unit

A CONDOMINIUM unit in Binondo, Manila, belonging to a Chinese businessman caught fire the other day.

The unit, no. 408, is said to be located at the fourth floor of the SHC Tower on Elcano Street in Binondo.

The fire reportedly took place at around 4:45 p.m.

Glasses were reportedly shattered as the fire reached fifth alarm and was contained at 5:15 p.m. The tenant, whose identity was not made known, was out at that time.

Investigation showed the employes reported having seen flames coming out of the unit’s window, followed by an explosion, causing rocks to fall and glasses to be shattered.

The other residents were able to get out quickly so that no one was reported killed on injured in the incident.

Arson investigators are finding out the cause of the fire.
