The iconic “Love Bus” units are now available to serve commuters in Metro Manila following its launch during the “Handog ng Pangulo” service caravan on Saturday (September 13) at the Valenzuela Gateway Complex (VGC) in Valenzuela City.
The ceremonial send off for the Love Bus was led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, and presidential son Simon Marcos.
The new Love Bus is a project under the DSWD- SLP’s Persons with Disabilities–Electric Transportation Service (PWD-ETS), in partnership with Global Electric Transport (GET) Philippines.
Joining the First Family in the Love Bus relaunch were the members of the Marcos Cabinet, including Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian; Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon; and Department of Transportation (DOTr) Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez.
Also present were Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and local government officials including Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie Gatchalian; Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval; Valenzuela 1st District Rep. Kenneth Gatchalian; and Valenzuela City Vice Mayor Marlon Alejandrino.
Other DSWD officials present in the launch were Undersecretary Monina Josefina Romualdez of the Operations Group; Undersecretary Evelyn Aribon of the Office of the Secretary Group; Asst. Secretary Edmon Monteverde of the Promotive Programs under the Operations Group; Asst. Secretary for Community Engagement Ulysses Hermogenes Aguilar; and, Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) Director Marife Leon.
GET President Freddie Tinga was also present in the ceremonial send-off activity for the Love Bus units. (AKDL)
