KADAMAY Water Refilling Station

The Samahan ng Malayang Kapatiran Para sa Kapayapaan ng Bayan (SAMAKKA), composed of former members of the Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (KADAMAY), inaugurated Monday (April 25, 2022) a water refilling station at Villa Lois, Siling Bata, Pandi Bulacan.

The water refilling station, according to SAMAKKA Chairman Lolita ‘Ka Lolit’ De Jesus, will provide a less expensive and more convenient solution to the residents’ need for clean potable water at Villa lois, Siling Bata, Pandi Bulacan.

“Aside from the cheaper drinking water, we plan to earn from it and eventually make it a source of income for the members. Ito ang kasagutan sa aming isinisigaw sa lansangan noon”, said Ka Lolit.

She also added that the water refilling station, amounting to P500,000.00 was funded by stakeholders from the private sector who are advocating peace and supporting the government campaign to end local communist armed conflict thru livelihood programs that would address issues of former members and supporters of the Communist Terrorist Group.

“I am grateful to the stakeholders who assisted with and sponsored this water refilling station. It is a private sector that does not want to be introduced”, added Ka Lolit.

SAMAKKA also invited government agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Cooperative and Development Authority (CDA), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and Philippine National Police (PNP) to witness the event. They also committed support to the cooperative including product branding, packaging, and market linking, as well as entrepreneurship training and continuous cooperative education seminars.

The SAMAKKA’s water refilling station will benefit not only its members, but also members of other KADAMAY breakaway groups in the municipality such as the Pagkakaisa ng Mamamayan Tungo sa Kapayapaan (PMTK) and Sentrong Alyansa ng Mamamayan at Kabataan (SAMAKA) including active KADAMAY members who live in the six (6) villages they occupied in Pandi, Bulacan.

Prior to the inauguration, leaders of the SAMAKKA and PMTK attended a CDA Region III pre-cooperative registration seminar held at Barangay Siling Bata Covered Court on April 23, 2022.

It can be recalled that, SAMAKKA was formed following their withdrawal of support to KADAMAY, Anakpawis and the CTG on October 22, 2020.#
