FOUR men were injured when a freon compressor they took from a refrigerator exploded while they were dismantling it at the corner of Tayuman and Dagupan Streets in Tondo, Manila on Sunday afternoon.
In his initial report, firefighter -paramedic Jam Mariano said that the victims were all male, one of whom lost a hand, another had an injured jaw, while two more sustained minor injuries in various parts of the body.
The incident took place at around 3:30 p.m. while they were scavenging the said compressor freon.
The victims were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment while the Manila Police District (MPD) is investigating the cause of the accident.
