GAB extends deadline

GAB

WITH the health and safety of the athletes as its primary concern, the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) is extending the deadline for renewal of all professional licenses without corresponding penalty until Sept. 21 this year.

In a resolution signed by GAB Chairman Abraham “Baham” Mitra dated March 22, GAB said the extension was in response to Proclamation No. 1021 issued by President Duterte extending the period of State of Calamity throughout the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

GAB Commissioners Mar Masanguid and Eduard Trinidad also signed the resolution aimed at helping professional athletes and other licensees cope with the pandemic.

The resolution also followed a directive issued by the IATF last March 21 calling for continued implementation of proactive measures to ensure the health of the Filipino people due to the rising COVID-19 infections and spreading of new COVID-19 variants.

GAB continues to follow the health and safety protocols of the IATF.

The former Palawan Governor/Congressman reminded everybody to continue the safety protocols.
