GAB to crack whip on Vis-Min Cup

Games and Amusements Board

THE Games and Amusements Board (GAB), headed by Chairman Abraham “Baham” Mitra, will impose the appropriate sanction upon completion of its investigation on the controversial Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup game between ARQ Builders-Lapu-Lapu City Heroes and Siquijor Mystics last Wednesday at the Alcantata Sports and Civic Center.

We are awaiting the report of our sports regulators inside the bubble to be presented and decided upon by the board in our meeting,” said Mitra in a statement.

We would like to remind our players that a license to practice profession is not a right, but a concession and a privilege granted by the government. Now, if they fail to abide by the rules, the government has the right to step in to impose necessary sanctions or revoke such a privilege.

Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas also threatened to pullout of its sponsorship of the league unless proper action will be taken by Vis-Min Cup organizers.

Makati City Pabakuna

The Lapu-Lapu-Siquijor game on the fourth day of competition was stopped when officials decided to postpone the match due to power outage inside the venue.

But highlights of the game showing the questionable misses surfaced on social media, prompting negative reactions from several PBA players and other members of the local basketball community.

The day’s other scheduled games were completed without any problems, with KCS-Mandaue City defeating Tubigon Bohol, 97-71, and MJAS Zenith-Talisay City beating Dumaguete Warriors, 92-72.

Pilipinas Vis-Min Super Cup organizers, led by president Rocky Chan, are set to make an announcement after completing their own investigation.
