ILOILO Rep. Janette Garin denounced as “fake” the news report claiming she was ordered to be arrested for her alleged role in the death of two children who were administered with Dengvaxia vaccine.

In a statement, Garin said this is another attempt to mislead and condition the public’s mind.

Late Friday, a report spread that a Quezon City court had issued a warrant for the arrest of Garin and three executives of Sanofi Pasteur Inc, the manufacturer of Dengvaxia.

“No warrant of arrest has been issued,” Garin said.

The Court document stated “the record shows that some accused, namely Dr. Janette L. Garin, Stanislas Camart, Jean Louis Grunwald, Jean Francois Vacherand have not yet filed their bail bonds. They are directed to inform the Court if they have already filed their bail bond in other Courts and furnish this Court a copy of the Courts order approving their bond so that the Court can likewise approve the same without them filing a new bail bond within 3 days from receipt of this order, otherwise a warrant of arrest will be issued against them.”

The Court document also noted that the bail bonds posted before Muntinlupa City; Imus, Cavite and other courts are already considered filed before the Quezon City court. “If the Court missed my records, I will furnish them a copy of my documents,” Garin said.

Garin then pointed out that science has proven that the vaccine did not and could not cause deaths.

The solon lamented that “only in the Philippines, we believe dramatic lawyers and fake pathologists over real doctors and scientists.”

She also said that in this time of pandemic, vaccines should not be demonized because the only hope for returning to normal is the development of a vaccine.
