POLICE arrested a member of the military reserve force after he was accused of molesting a 17 year-old girl on her birthday in Bgy. Opias, Tayabas City, Quezon.
Quezon police director Col. Audie Madrideo said Robin Julius Añonuevo, 24, Philippine Army reservist and resident of Bgy. Angustias Z-3, did not resist when accosted by elements of the Tayabas City Police under Major Romar Pacis.
Madrideo said Añonuevo was accused by the victim, a Grade 11 student of molesting her shortly after a drinking spree inside her home before midnight yesterday.
Officer on case PSMS Aurelia Garcela said prior to the incident, the girl who was celebrating her birthday had a drinking spree with Añonuevo’s two younger male companions but the suspect somehow managed to join them.
Garcela said one of Añonuevo’s two male companions eventually left while the other one fell asleep due to intoxication.
Quoting the girl’s accounts, Añonuevo allegedly started kissing her and touching her private parts. Not contented, the suspect allegedly inserted his finger into her genitals prompting the victim to resist and shout for help.
The victim said the suspect fled leaving his sleeping companion.
Garcela said the girl immediately contacted her mother who arrived and accompanied her to the police station where they reported the incident.
After being arrested, the drunk suspect denied the charges, saying he did not know what had happened.
