Globe offers Libreng Tawag, Charging, WiFi services as Crising taunts Mindanao

Globe Telecoms

Globe is ready to extend assistance to residents in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao City, Davao del Sur, Cotabato and other areas threatened by #Crising as part of its intensified disaster preparedness campaign.

The telco also assures that its technical and support personnel are on call, as well as standby generators for use of its facilities.

Globe’s Libreng Tawag, Charging, and WiFi services are set to be deployed in areas where the weather disturbance is seen to bring heavy rains and strong winds.

Globe is also providing free data access to the website of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) for Globe and TM customers as it reminded Filipinos in affected areas to always be prepared and make sure to tune into legitimate news sites and updates from authorities.

Globe advises affected residents to store enough food and water, prepare their flashlights with extra batteries, candles as well as first aid kits, and fully charge their phones, expect to receive SMS alerts from NDRRMC and to stay indoors.

According to the 11 a.m. bulletin of PAGASA, Crising has weakened into a Low Pressure Area. This LPA will continue moving westward or west northwestward and emerge over the Sulu Sea in the next 6 to 12 hours. Isolated flash flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible during heavy or prolonged rainfall.

Light to moderate with at times heavy rains may be experienced over Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao City, Davao del Sur, Cotabato, Maguindanao, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, and Misamis Occidental, the state weather bureau said.

It is expected to continue moving westward across Mindanao before emerging over Sulu Sea Friday night.
