Go aids Lucena flash flood victims

THE Office of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go distributed much-needed assistance to more flash flood victims in Lucena City.

In four separate distribution activities conducted from October 20 to 21, Go’s team provided food packs, masks, face shields, and free meals to over 2,000 recipients from various barangays in Lucena City. This is on top of the previous 2,000 affected residents aided last week.

As of this writing, Go’s team is continuously providing emergency relief to calamity victims in other areas in Quezon province.

The series of distribution activities were conducted in compliance with necessary health and safety protocols to avoid the spread of COVID-19 and other diseases.

Kaya per batch po kayo,” Go said in his video message to the beneficiaries.

Delikado ang panahon ngayon kaya doble ingat tayo,” he reminded the residents.

Aside from the said assistance, Go also provided bicycles to chosen recipients as public transportation remains limited due to the pandemic. He also gave away tablets to another set of recipients for their children to use for online classes as part of their blended learning being implemented in schools.

Personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development also distributed financial assistance to the flash flood victims.

Meanwhile, Lucena City Mayor Roderick Alcala expressed his gratitude for the relief operations and efforts done by the Senator to help his constituents. In a letter addressed to Go, Alcala stated that the citizens of Lucena City extend their deepest gratitude to Go for immediately addressing their needs following the recent typhoon and flooding incidents.

In addition, Alcala’s letter also mentioned that the city is grateful for Go’s unrelenting support, especially in helping Lucena City avail of other development projects and social programs benefitting an estimated 300,000 constituents of the city.

Despite the ongoing public health crisis, the Senator continues to reach out and extend much-needed relief to Filipinos in crisis situations.
