GOOD news for returning overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced that it has launched an OFW Balikbayan Program that invites Filipino engineers abroad to return and pursue careers in Philippine aviation.

Called, “Juan Flight Closer to Home,” the said program is part of CEB’s broader efforts to strengthen its Engineering and Fleet Management team by welcoming home skilled Filipino professionals with global experience. Even before the official launch, over ten overseas engineers have already joined the airline, supporting CEB’s expanding domestic and international operations.

“Filipino engineers have earned the respect of the global aviation industry, and we believe it’s time to bring that excellence home. This program is about more than just filling roles—it’s about giving skilled professionals a reason to come back, contribute to something meaningful, and rediscover what it means to build a future in the Philippines,” said Felix Lopez, CEB Chief Human Resources Officer.

CEB EFM Benefits

In order to support returning professionals, CEB said it offers a relocation package that includes a complimentary flight to Manila with baggage allowance, one-time relocation assistance, travel benefits for the employee and their dependents, and healthcare coverage that begins on the first day of employment.

CEB spokesperson Carmina Romero said the airlines actively hiring for a range of engineering positions, including roles in avionics, planning, airframe systems, and aircraft structures, areas that are critical to ensuring the continued safety and reliability of the airline’s expanding fleet.

Said program reflects the airline’s long-standing commitment to creating opportunities for Filipinos—not just through travel, but through work that’s grounded in purpose, pride and homegrown talent, Romero added.
