HONORING A HERO — Marcelo H. del Pilar, regarded as “Father of Philippine Journalism” whose pen name Plaridel is synonymous with the propaganda reform movement during the Spanish colonial period, marked his 170th birth anniversary o August 30. The Association of Philippine Journalists (a.k.a.Samahang Plaridel) observed the event with wreath-laying at the hero’s monument in Ermita, Manila.
