TO prevent people from gathering during the distribution of financial aid to residents affected by the two- week enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), the local government unit of Pasig City conducted a house- to-house distribution on Friday.
Mayor Vico Sotto said they deployed 40 teams to conduct house-to-house distribution of financial aid to less fortunate communities.
“Kahit na holiday ngayon, [mayroon] tayong 40 teamsna nag hahouse-to-house para ipamahagi ang ayuda mula sa Nasyonal [na Pamahalaan] ,” Sotto posted on Facebook.
A total of 681,743 individuals in Pasig City will each receive P1,000 financial assistance from the national government following the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
Sotto said the Pasig LGU received a total of ₱681,743,000 from the national government.
house-to-house distribution was conducted in areas classified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as “pockets of poverty” or less fortunate communities.
“Walang announcement, basta pupunta na lang ang mga team. Kasi sa karanasan natin, biglang dumarami ang tao pag may announcement“, the mayor said.
Meanwhile, he said that the distribution for those on the DSWD-SAP list will be cashless as their assistance will be wired to their PAYMAYA accounts via electronic money transfer.
