Iligan City Jail Joins Regionwide Bloodletting Drive for BJMP’s 34th Anniversary

Iligan City, Philippines — In celebration of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s (BJMP) 34th founding anniversary, the Iligan City Jail is actively participating in a regionwide bloodletting activity under the theme “Matatag na Serbisyo, Patnubay sa Pagbabago.”

Taking place at the Administrative Building of the Iligan City Jail–Male Dormitory (ICJMD), the ongoing event was organized in collaboration with the Philippine National Red Cross–Iligan City Chapter. The activity forms part of a synchronized blood donation effort across BJMP Regional Office X.

With at least 30 personnel expected to donate blood, the initiative underscores the agency’s dedication to public service beyond the walls of its facilities. It also coincides with BJMP’s Community Relations Service Month, observed every June.

JCSINP CARMELO A CORSAME, City Jail Warden of ICJMD, remarked, “This act of generosity and care reflects our broader mission of service. Donating blood may be simple, but its impact is profound—it’s a contribution to life itself.”

JINSP MARIVIC D VERGARA, City Jail Warden of the Female Dormitory, added, “We’re proud to see our personnel stepping up for this cause. It’s a genuine expression of the compassion embedded in our service.”

The bloodletting drive continues throughout the day, championing unity, volunteerism, and the power of community outreach.
