OPERATIVES from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) intelligence operatives arrested an Iranian and an American in separate operations conducted in Pampanga and Isabela.
BI intelligence division chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr. said that Amirhossein Moghaddasi, 52, was arrested inside the Clark Civil Aviation Complex at the Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga last February 6 after the bureau received a complaint against the subject. The complaint claimed that Moghaddasi, despite holding a valid working visa, was working for a company other than his petitioner.
Manahan said agents conducted monitoring of Moghaddasi, and later confirmed him to indeed be working in Clark after his previous company already ceased operations.
Meanwhile, the BI also reported the arrest of James Brian Dunlap, 68, last February 10 at Brgy. Silawit, Cauayan City in Isabela. Dunlap was found to have been overstaying in the country for almost 25 months in violation of Philippine immigration laws.
Both Moghaddasi and Dunlap were arrested and transferred to the BI’s facility inside Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig. The two face deportation charges and will remain in BI custody until the implementation of their removal from the country.
