DROP everything.

This was the advice given by Mayor Isko Moreno to the residents of Manila in case another batch of vaccines is made available to the city, stressing the need to get jabbed once the opportunity presents itself, in order to get extra protection against the coronavirus.

“Pag me bakuna, drop everything if you fall under the category na pupuwede magpa-bakuna,” Moreno said, explaining that while the jab may not guarantee immunity, it provides, at the very least, some protection against landing in severe case once a person gets infected.

The mayor once again urged residents to pre-register, saying it is the only way that the city can find and inform them if they happen to belong to the categories that are allowed to be inoculated.

“Para kayo ay ma-contact na agad, please register. Pag madaming vaccine, madami din ang site. Pag konti ang vaccine, konti ang site. Once we get hold of the vaccines, ide-deploy namin kaagad. ‘Yan ang kompromiso ko sa inyo,” Moreno said.

So far, Manila has the most number of individuals jabbed, using vaccines given to the city government by the national government. The city’s own set of pre-ordered vaccines are yet to arrive.

No less than Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, a doctor, is on top of the vaccination program of the city herself, along with the Manila Health Department headed by Dr. Arnold Pangan.

As this developed, Moreno announced the resumption yesterday of the vaccination of persons under the category of medical frontliners, senior citizens and those with comorbidities albeit with limited doses only of 600 in each of the three designated vaccination sites.

Meanwhile, Moreno said that a total of 72,134 had been vaccinated as of April 14 under the said categories based on the priority list set by the national government.

So far, 295,370 have already registered with www.manilacovid19vaccine.ph in order to avail of the free vaccine.
