THE cremated remains of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s mother Rosario, was laid to rest yesterday.

The interment, which was a very private affair, was held at around 2 p.m.following a socially-distanced mass and blessing of the urn held at 1 p.m.

Family members and close relatives and friends wearing face masks and face shields, attended the mass and stayed on to personally express their condolences to the mayor, who tearfully thanked the sympathizers one by one, by elbow greetings, on his way to his car.

Rosario, better known as ‘Nanay Chayong,’ passed away on Sunday (October 25) due to a lingering illness at the age of 74. Her demise came a day after Moreno and son Joaquin celebrated their 46th and 19th birthday, respectively, on October 24.

Her remains were cremated right after and then interred yesterday, owing to her wish that there be no fanfare when she passes on.
