A 42-year-old woman landed in a hospital when her live-in partner doused her with boiling water inside their home in Tondo, Manila.
The suspect, who was nabbed in a follow-up operation by operatives under Supt. Jerry Corpuz, Manila Police District-Station 7 commander, identified the suspect as Elmer Sablaon, also aged 42. He was found in his mother’s home at 1027 F. Yuseco St., Tondo.
The victim, identified only as ‘Dadang,’ reportedly suffered burns in the shoulders and face and is now recuperating after getting treatment at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.
Prober PO1 Crispin Cunanan said the incident took place at around 4:30 p.m. Sablaon arrived and went to the kitchen to boil water.
The victim reportedly thought the suspect was merely preparing water for coffee and was surprised when the suspect suddenly threw the boiling water on her.
was rushed to the hospital by a family member and after getting treatment, she went straight to the police to report the incident.
Police suspected that the suspect’s motive is jealousy, based on information gathered.
