A MAN accused of having killed a neighbor he suspected of having an affair with his live- in partner was arrested by the Eastern Police District – District Special Operations Unit ( EPD- DSOU) Tuesday in Pasig City.
EPD- DSOU Deputy chief, Major Darwin Guerrero identified the arrested suspect as as Benjamin Brendez ,36.
Brendez is included in the top 3 Most Wanted Persos of the Pasig Police.
Police Staff Sargeant (PSSG) Rommel Fajutag said Brendez was collared by the DSOU team when he visited his new live – in partner in San Agustin Ave., Bolante 2, Bgy. Palatiw, Pasig City at around 5: 30 p.m.
Fajutag said the suspect faces an arrest warrant for the death of his neighbor on November 10,2019 in Bgy. Palatiw.
Brenndez was nabbed on the virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Maria Grace Cadiz – Casaclan of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 155 for the crime of murder.
The suspect’s arrest was a result of surveillance by policemen and a tip from an informant that he was frequently visiting his new live-in partner.
Based on records, Brendez allegedly stabbed dead a neighbor who was on his way home from work on 2019.
Police said suspect killed the victim over suspicion of having an affair with his former live- in partner.
“The victim sustained stab wounds in the chest, killing him instantly,” said Fajutag added.
The suspect is now detained at the Pasig Police Custodial facility.
