Jennylyn says relationship with Dennis ‘different’ now

Jennylyn Mercado

JENNYLYN Mercado has completed all her scenes in the locked in taping of “Descendants of the Sun” and the show will start airing again on GMA Telebabad primetime. First, they will have a recap of what happened before its telecast was disrupted by the virus seven months ago. Then they will show the newly taped episodes until its exciting conclusion.

“It’s no joke pala to do taping ng may lockdown,” says Jen. “Sa set, naka-face mask and shield kami lagi. Tinatanggal lang kapag a-acting na kami sa harap ng kamera. We taped sa Tanay, Rizal. Ako, for nine straight days at ‘yung ibang cast like Dingdong Dantes, naiwan pa roon, along with the crew and entire production team.”

The staff was very strict about following safety protocols. “May swab test kami before and after the taping to make sure no one gets infected by the virus. This is the new normal of taping at mahirap siya. Kaya nga I’m praying matapos na itong health crisis that we are experiencing, so we can go back to the old normal na nakakalabas tayo at nakapagtatrabaho without any fear na maba-virus tayo.”

She says she’s so happy that everyone cooperated well while they’re taping on the location. “Dahil walang uwian, kasi nga locked in kayong lahat, doon mo mas makikita ang tunay na ugali ng isang tao. I have nothing but good words for my leading man. Doon ko nakita kung gaano kabuting tao si Dingdong Dantes, mabait talaga, considerate sa lahat, very professional. I’m thankful to be given the chance to work with him in this important project. Lahat kami, nahirapan, pero lahat kami feeling fulfilled kasi maganda lumabas ang kabuuan ng show. Very tiring dahil dire-diretsong trabaho, but it’s all worth it naman.”

Jen is now resting but she will soon go back before the cameras to tape an episode for GMA-7’s new drama anthology show, “I Can See You”. She will co-star with her on and off screen sweetheart, Dennis Trillo. This will be a reunion for them on screen.

They were last paired in the drama series “My Faithful Husband” in 2015, where they reconciled after breaking up in 2013. Theirs is definitely a case of “love is lovelier the second time around.” Now, they’re together even in distributing help to medical health workers.

They first gave alcohol, soaps, face mask and shields to doctors at the Philippine General Hospital and now, to the medical staff at the Amang Rodriguez Medical Center in Marikina. She’s hoping her relationship with Dennis would definitely be for keeps.

“We’re now more mature compared to the first time we were together,” she says. “Nag-evolve na kami bilang tao. We used to have misunderstandings over the pettiest things but now, we know how to talk things over and resolve them.”

Carlo now a dad but no rush to get married

CARLO Aquino says just because he and partner Trina Candaza now have a baby girl doesn’t mean they will soon face the altar. “I can see myself being with her for good kasi, mula nang kami ang maging magkarelasyon, it changed my views in life for the better,” he says.

“Also, I’m of age na rin, 35 na ako noong September 3, e. But we don’t need to rush, we have to plan it well. Tingnan na lang natin kung kailan ang tamang panahon, baka sa mga susunod na buwan, o taon. Basta as of now, we’re happy with the blessing the Lord gave us, our baby girl.”

Although they’re not officially married, the baby will carry Carlo’s family name. She will be called Enola Mithi Aquino. Carlo himself posted their baby’s first photo on his social media account, with the caption saying: “You can thank your stars all you want but I’ll always be the one lucky one.”

All his showbiz friends quickly replied to him and congratulated him online, including Beautederm big boss Rhea Anicoche Tan who got him as one of her very first endorsers, Zanjoe Marudo, Sylvia Sanchez and daughter Ria Atayde, Ejay Falcon, Rocco Nacino, Rodjun Cruz (a first time father himself), Gladys Reyes, Sue Ramirez, and many more.

Folks are now wondering how his very first girlfriend in showbiz, Angelica Panganiban, feel about it? They were together for five years and when they were paired again in the movie “Exes Baggage”, people thought they will get together again even off cam. It was reported that Angelica had hoped for their reconciliation and was so disappointed when it didn’t happen as Carlo had already met Trina by then.

More Kapamilya talents turning into Kapatid

MORE Kapamilya stars are making an exodus to TV5 after the ABS-CBN non-renewal of franchise. A number of them are due to do shows with TV5. It was Kris Aquino who said the producers of her projected show chose someone else to replace her and it seems this will be Korina Sanchez. She is due to host a program titled “Rated Korina”, which Korina is now temporarily airing on her Facebook page.

Then Dimples Romana and Ian Veneracion, who both did soaps on ABS-CBN, will now appear in a situation comedy entitled “Oh My Dad”, supported by Gloria Diaz and Ariel Ureta, with Sue Ramirez as their daughter. Ian will play a womanizing father who has kids with other women. Does that kind of a story sound ideal for a family comedy to you?

This is a blocktimer produced by former representative Albee Benitez, whose son Javi is the current inamorato of Sue and they’ve already completed a movie, also produced by Javi’s dad for his company, Bright Light Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Piolo Pascual is reported to be hosting a noontime show with former Miss Universe Catriona Gray, said to be directed by Johnny Manahan who used to be the top man in Star Magic. Another variety show will be hosted by Billy Crawford, Alex Gonzaga, K Brosas, Wacky Kiray and, if negotiations would be successful, by Luis Manzano.

Even directors who used to be associated with ABS-CBN are moving to TV5, like Jeffrey Jeturian and Dan Villegas. And we’re told this is just a partial list. “Abang-abang lang kayo dahil marami pa ang susunod,” says our source.
