Jobless man, laborer stabbed in Malabon

A CONSTRUCTION worker and a jobless man was critically wounded in separate stabbing incidents in Malabon City.

Richard Segovia, 44, jobless of Guyabano Road, Bgy. Potrero was walking along Macopa Road on his way home at around 5 a.m. Sunday when certain Alex Cerbito of 130 Macopa St. Brgy. Potrero blocked his path and stabbed him in the chest and left arm.

Though wounded, the victim managed to seek help from his friend, who rushed him to Jose Reyes Memorial and Medical Center where he was placed under observation after undergoing medical treatment while the suspect immediately fled towards unknown direction.

Malabon police chief P/Col. Angela Rejano said the motive behind the incident is yet to be determined while a manhunt operation against the suspect was still ongoing.

Earlier at around 2 a.m., construction worker Rene Dela Torre, 25 and his co-worker Danny Boy Bahay, 50, both residents of Pilapil Street, Brgy. Catmon were having a drinking session near their house when they figured in an argument over an old grudge.

At the height of their altercation, Bahay pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed the victim, hitting him in his left underarm before fleeing towards Barangay Niugan while Dela Torre was rushed by his relatives to Tondo Medical Center for medical treatment.

Responding operatives of the Malabon police conducted a follow-up operation but they failed to arrest the suspect.
