Jobless woman from Makati held for P200K drugs in Ecija

STA. ROSA, Nueva Ecija — A 30-year-old jobless woman from Makati City was nabbed for possession of about P200,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust in this town on Wednesday.

In a report submitted to provincial police commander Col. Marvin Joe C. Saro, town police head Major Fortune Dianne A. Bernardo identified the arrested suspect as Charmagne Bernardez, alias Chai, of 73098 J. Victor Street, Bgy. Pio Del Pilar, Makati City.

Bernardo said the suspect who allegedly rode on a bus to transact illegal drugs here was collared following a buy-bust conducted along Rizal Street at 4 p.m. here.

Seized during the operation were 11 transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 50 grams worth about P200,000, four P500 bills in buy-bust money, a black coin purse and the suspect’s Samsung cellphone.

Meanwhile, in two other separate drug stings in Cabanatuan City, police head Lt. Col. Barnard Danie V. Dasugo identified those two nabbed as Federico Chan, 57, alias Jun, driver, of Mulawin Street, Bgy. Padre Crisostomo; and Hajie Andro Sunio, 39, alias Hajie, of Purok 4, Bgy. Sangitan East, both of Cabanatuan City.

Chan, who was nabbed on General Tinio Street, Bgy. Dimasalang yielded five plastic sachets with shabu while undercover anti-drug operatives seized four plastic sachets containing shabu from Sunio, whose arrest was carried out in Purok 7, Bgy. Sangitan West.

Saro said charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 were already filed against the suspects before the prosecutor’s office here.
