The first ‘Oplan Biyaheng Ayos’ at the NAIA since it has come under private operation was conducted before the weekend and was a success.
Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Eric Jose Ines has joined Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista and New NAIA Infrastructure Corp.(NNIC) General Manger Angelito Alvarez during the said inspection of the NAIA Terminals which begun on October 30.
The said inspection was done in anticipation of the passenger surge leading up to Undas 2024 and according to Ines, the MIAA as the regulator and NNIC as the operator, along with other agencies in the aviation sector, are all prepared for the influx of travelers in the coming days.
Ines said the ‘Oplan Biyaheng Ayos: Undas 2024′ aims to ensure the smooth operations at NAIA and provide air passengers with hassle-free travel.
In a related development, the NNIC announced that a planned water service interruption by Maynilad Water Services, Inc. will affect Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 operations.
The interruption, scheduled for 16 hours from 2 p.m. on November 1 to 6 a.m. on November 2, is due to maintenance and repair activities at Maynilad’s Putatan Treatment Plant.
The NNIC assured passengers and stakeholders that it has already prepared contingency measures to ensure continuous water supply throughout the duration of the said interruption.
According to the NNIC, it will utilize existing water reserves from T3’s water tanks which have a combined capacity of 3.2 million liters while Maynilad will also be assisting by providing water trucks to replenish these tanks as needed.
In addition, water containers will be strategically placed in restrooms throughout the terminal and water trucks will also be on standby to refill restroom water containers if necessary.
“NNIC reminds all passengers and stakeholders to conserve water during this period. Simple steps like using water sparingly in restrooms and reporting any leaks can help ensure adequate water supply for all,” it said in a statement.
