“Kalinga sa Maynila” now offers even more services to residents

This, according to Mayor Honey Lacuna, is what Manila residents should start expecting from now on, as the city government resumed its regular meet and forum with the residents yesterday (March 22) with an added feature of providing a ‘service fair’, free medical consultation and a job fair, among others.

The said forum, which is being carried out by Lacuna in an effort to bring the city government straight to the communities, is meant to give the residents the chance to air their needs, suggestions and grievances to the mayor herself.

In turn, Lacuna would direct the said resident to whatever department, office or bureau the concern falls.

When conducting said fora, the mayor brings with her the heads of the various departments for them to directly answer queries, complaints or requests.

Lacuna said the regular ‘Kalinga sa Maynila’ forum will no longer be an ordinary ‘ugnayan’ where Manilans may lodge their suggestions, needs or complaints but in addition, certain services will also be provided to the residents of the barangay and adjacent barangays.

This week’s forum, which was held at Barangay 177 in Tondo (District 2), began at 8 a.m. while the service fair started at 9 a.m.

During the medical consultation, free medicines were also provided in certain cases while Mayor Lacuna herself, being a doctor, joined in providing medical services to those who sought such free health services.

Two in one, doktor na, nanay pa. Abangan n’yo po ako,” said Lacuna.

Meanwhile, Lacuna said that the job fair that accompanied the forum was opened not only in the barangay where the forum was held but also in adjacent barangays.

She advised jobseekers to wear casual attire, bring ten copies of their resume and their own pen.
