Kris vs. Cristy: ‘Power trip’

Kris Aquino, Cristy Fermin and Lolit Solis

THERE’S a new “away” in showbiz that gossip hungry readers will enjoy feasting on: between Kris Aquino and Cristy Fermin. Cristy wrote in her column that there was an offer for her, Kris and Lolit Solis to do a show for Pure Gold. Since Mr. Fu is part of their hit “Take It Per Minute” online show, they want Mr. Fu to also be a part of the new show. They all agreed about it in a meeting, but Kris later told Lolit she doesn’t like Mr. Fu.

Cristy says Mr. Fu accepted the rejection graciously, but he cried about it secretly in the restroom of her art gallery, Obra ni Nanay, where “Take It Per Minute” is aired live. She adds that Kris’ action is: “Power trip ‘yun, eh.

Kris, in turn wrote to Dindo Balares, a mutual friend of theirs: “Dito ako papalag.

I saved all the messages @akosilolitsolis & I exchanged starting from October 28.

I understand you, a person can potentially have many children, but you will only have 1 mother.

“Hindi lang nga nararamdaman na kailangan pang pagsigawan ngayon alam ko na- I do not have to attend every fight I’m invited to. I cannot control what people will say about me or do to me, BUT I can control my reaction & subsequent actions.”

We feel for Lolit Solis as she is close to both Kris and Cristy. We are sure her feeling is like “naiiipit sa nag-uumpugang bato”. We hope she’ll act as the mediator between Kris and Cristy to put an end to their current tiff.

A special Filipino drama for Christmas

RICKY Davao is so busy these days with his participation on TV5 and Cignal Entertainment’s special Christmas presentation, “Paano ang Pasko”, created by Jun Lana that will start airing on November 23, Monday. He is one of the series’ three directors, along with Perci Intalan and Eric Quizon.

They’re now doing lock in taping for six weeks in San Pablo City where they are using an old ancestral home as the story’s main setting. Ricky is not only a director but he’s also one of the main lead actors, playing the role of the family’s long time driver who knows the secrets of all its members.

Then last week, I had to leave the set muna kasi may previous commitment ako to direct a Cultural Center of the Philippines online special, ‘Awit at Tula: ang Pagbabalik Tanaw sa Unang Hari ng Balagtasan’, which is something different naman, alang-alang sa teatro at kultura.”

We are truly glad that TV5 is doing a special drama series that is meant for the coming Christmas season. Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan stars as the family’s matriarch. Among her children are Beauty Gonzalez and the comebacking Julia Clarete, who are fighting over the love of one man, Ejay Falcon, who is given a big challenging dramatic role here.

Also in the cast are Elijah Alejo (on his own for the first time, minus Kokoy de Santos of “Game Over’s” hugely popular Elikoy love team), John Lapus, Matt Evans, Danita Paner, Devon Seron, Cedrick Juan, Ace Ismael and Justine Buenaflor.

The story is constructed like a whodunit. An expensive heirloom, a diamond necklace, goes missing and everyone is suspected to be the thief. There’s a scene in their trailer where Beauty is seen being arrested by cops. But is she really the culprit? The show has many dramatic scenes about family conflict and misunderstandings that will make you cry, but it will also make you laugh and fall in love all over again with its scenes depicting innocent young love.

They are using the now classic “Pasko Na Sinta Ko” as the show’s main theme song, composed by Aurelio Estanislao and Francis Dandan, given a new arrangement by Jonathan Manalo and powerfully sung by Jonalyn Viray who makes it all her own.
