After receiving its KWF Selyo ng Kahusayan sa Serbisyo Publiko Antas I in August last year, Valenzuela City was once again recognized this year as a partner of Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino in the delivery of quality public services using the Filipino language.
As part of the celebration of Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa, the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) awards the City Government of Valenzuela the KWF Selyo ng Kahusayan sa Serbisyo Publiko 2022 Antas II at Diamond Hotel, Manila, August 31.
Selyo ng Kahusayan sa Serbisyo Publiko is an award given to national agencies and local government units that have complied with the mandate and implementation of Executive Order 335 which states Enjoining all Departments/Bureaus/Offices/Agencies/Instrumentalities of the government to take such steps as are necessary for the purpose of using the Filipino language in official transactions, communications, and correspondence.
The local government is dedicated to the implementation of Executive Order 335 by translating to Filipino the Citizen’s Charter and the City’s Mission and Vision; using Filipino in making official correspondence, notice to the public, and advertisements on social media platforms; and Filipino language programs have been successfully implemented. Apart from these, Valenzuela City is continuously cooperating and supporting the activities of KWF for the purpose of making the Filipino language the language of public service.
Valenzuela City is one of the 29 agencies and government units that received the Selyo ng Kahusayan sa Serbisyo Publiko 2022. Valenzuela joins the City of Parañaque and Pasay in Antas II.
Mr. Jonathan Balsamo of the City Cultural Affairs and Tourism Development Office received the award as a representative of Valenzuela City Mayor WES Gatchalian.
The Selyo ng Kahusayan sa Serbisyo Publiko commenced by Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino in 2016. Meanwhile, Executive Order Number 335 was signed by former President Corazon Aquino in August 1988.
