MAYOR Honey Lacuna had met with Philippine National Police Chief Police General Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. to discuss what they can do jointly for the benefit of Manilans.

In a brief meeting in Camp Crame, Lacuna said she appreciates the assistance being provided to her administration by the PNP through the leadership of Manila Police District Commander Gen. Andre Dizon, in keeping the streets of Manila safe from criminal elements at all times.

Just the same, Lacuna said Azurin was gracious enough to assure her that he will be open to anything that the city government of Manila may need from the PNP, particularly in terms of police assistance.

For her part, the lady mayor gave Azurin the assurance that the local government of Manila will also do everything within its means to support the MPD.

Currently, Lacuna said that the city is aiding the MPD in terms of mobility, even as the monthly allowances for its personnel continues.

The mayor also expressed high appreciation for the recent huge drug bust in the city, saying it is one proof that the police is doing its job well.

Lacuna stressed that illegal drugs have no place in Manila, adding that it breeds crimes and lures both young and old, resulting in the destruction of both homes and lives.

She stressed that police visibility is still key to dissuading criminal elements from doing their thing or even lurking in the city.
