Mayor Honey Lacuna reiterated her gratitude to fire volunteers for constantly helping government firefighters during fire incidents in the city of Manila, with a call for residents to make every month a ‘Fire Prevention Month,’ not just March.
Lacuna said that for decades now, the fire volunteers have always been there to offer their precious time, strength and effort to protect lives and give hope to fire victims, at times even at the risk of their own lives and limbs.
Sa kanilang pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan napagtibay ang ating komunidad at nagsilbing inspirasyon para sa marami,” Lacuna said, as she and Manila Congressman Joel Chua (3rd District) both attended the 30th anniversary of the Sta. Cruz Fire Rescue Volunteers.
Rep. Chua, for his part, said that he and the mayor will always be there to support the fire volunteers in whatever way possible.
Too, Chua noted how the various organizations of fire volunteers have been at the forefront and relentlessly assisting the city in saving precious lives and properties during and every fire disaster.
He cited the countless incidents that volunteer firefighters assisted Manila and said the city will forever be grateful to them.
Additionally, Lacuna called on Manilans to citing the number of fire incidents that had been hitting the city recently and to always prioritize saving lives than properties.
