Laguna inmate dies after having breathing difficulty

A 45-YEAR-OLD Person Under Police Custody (PUPC) died after having breath difficulty Monday morning inside the Sta Rosa City Police custodial facility in Laguna.

Sta Rosa City Police Chief PLT. Col. Vicente Amante identified the fatality as Edgar Reger Rosite, a native of Leyte.

Rosite had been charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165.

Patrolman Eugene Capunitan, duty Jailer of the Sta Rosa City Police custodial facility, said the inmate was brought by a rescue team to the Sta Rosa community hospital.

Initial investigation showed the duty jailer’s attention was informed by other PUPCs that Rosite was having trouble breathing.

Rosite was declared dead on arrival at the community hospital by attending physician Dra Fleur Deliz Guinto at about 9:03 a.m.

Further investigation showed Rosite had hypertension.

Kasabay din sa init ng panahon na posible ng kanyang pagkahapo,” said an investigator.
