A LAWYER was shot and killed by still unidentified assailants yesterday morning in Narra, Palawan.
Initial police investigation identified the victim as Atty. Eric Jay Macamit who died on the spot.
The lawyer was allegedly shot by the suspects while he was stepping out of his vehicle on his way to a court hearing.
Meanwhile, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Palawan chapter has condemned the incident and called on authorities to immediately conduct an investigation.
“We are deeply saddened by and strongly condemn the killing of our comrade, Atty. Eric Jay Magcamit, who was shot today in broad daylight while on his way to a hearing in Quezon, Palawan.”
“This incident is not only an attack to a member of the IBP but also an attack to the legal order and justice system by means of fear and violence,” the IBP said in a statement.
