THE National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed a number of cases before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, after it was proven that the signature on her notarized counter-affidavit is not hers.
NBI Director Jaime Santiago said the charges of falsification by a notary public, use of falsified documents, perjury and obstruction of justice were filed against Guo, Atty. Elmer Galicia, the lawyer who notarized her counter-affidavit and three others.
NBI Task Force Alice Guo head agent Palmer Mallari said that based on the exam results, it was not Guo who signed the counter-affidavit contrary to her testimony at the Senate hearing on September 17,2024.
Mallari said the NBI collected a “sample specimen” of Guo’s original signature on various documents from Bamban and they were compared to the counter-affidavit.
“After the examination… it was proven that the sample signatures appearing on those documents as compared to the supposed signature appearing on the counter-affidavit were actually not written by one and the same person. So basically, what this actually means is that iba po ang pumirma doon sa counter-affidavit,” Mallari stated.
Meanwhile, a quo warranto petition was filed against Guo at the Manila regional trial court, along with a petition cancelling her birth certificate before a Tarlac court.
Bukod diyan ay nahaharap din si Guo sa reklamong tax evasion at 87 counts ng money laundering sa DOJ.
