LGU adopts DOH’s ‘mask at home when not alone’

SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija – “Mask at home when not alone.

This was among the anti-COVID-19 directives set in this first-class town as the municipal government here also followed suit in implementing stricter health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of the killer virus.

In modifying the earlier protocols set in the town, Mayor Arvin C. Salonga ordered that only immediate family members can attend large gatherings such as weddings, birthdays, and wakes.

Aside from a curfew imposed from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Salonga said that all wakes are off limits to non-relatives or mourners and it shall be held for a maximum of three days only.

In addition, Dr. Robert P. Marcelo, municipal health officer said local residents must follow the advisory of the Department of Health (DOH) to wear “mask at home when not alone” to help stunt the rising COVID-19 cases for national and local settings.

Under the DOH advisory, Marcelo said everyone is advised to properly wear a face mask at all times and in all settings even at home when living with other persons, especially the vulnerable.

Marcelo also recommended that non-residents with essential business coming to the town must first present a negative antigen test result.

Salonga said operations of gyms, spa, cockpit arena, and other recreational facilities remain suspended for two weeks while parlors and barber shops must follow the 30 percent occupancy rule.

It was learned that nine active cases were recorded for the month of March.

The new COVID-19 restrictions were imposed in the town following the placing of the entire National Capital Region and the four provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal under a stricter general community quarantine or a one-bubble set-up called “NCR-plus” from March 22 until April 4.

Meanwhile, the Nueva Ecija provincial police under Col. Jaime O. Santos identified the 13 border control point areas in the province which were put up as safety protocols against COVID-19 as the Gapan-Olongapo Road in Bgy. San Vicente, Cabiao; Gapan-Olongapo Road in Bgy. San Roque, Gapan City; Bgy. Sto. Rosario Young in Zaragosa; Licab-Victoria Road in Bgy. Villarosa, Licab; Bgy. Banitan, Guimba; Bgy.
