Iwas Dengue and Kontra Covid-19 in Caloocan

THE city government of Caloocan started to conduct massive cleanup, fogging and disinfection of all barangays to curb the spread of dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases during rainy season.

Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan directed the City Environment Management Department (CEMD) to implement the city’s “Oplan Iwas Dengue at Kontra Covie-19” which is one of his project as part of a proactive approach in preventing the spread of Dengue and local transmission of the deadly disease.

Mayor Oca said that while the country is facing the problem brought about by Covid-19 pandemic, he said the local government must also be prepared to prevent the possible outbreak of dengue this rainy season.

Last Friday afternoon, personnel of the CEMD conducted fogging and disinfecting at the Buena Park in Barangays 2 and 3 which are among the areas in Caloocan with reported high number of f dengue cases.

The mayor reminded residents to always keep themselves safe and help prevent the spread of Covid-19, and avoid dengue and other diseases like flu, diarrhea, colds and leptospirosis during rainy season. Edd Reyes
