Lolo held for poking gun at barangay execs

POLICE arrested a sexagenarian man for allegedlh poked a gun ar a female barangay councilwoman who responded to a reported commotion Monday evening in Pasay City.

Pasay police chief P/Col. Ericson Dilag said the arrested suspect, Virgilio Mapalo, 63, construction worker and resident of 413 Cementina St. Brgy. 107 is facing charges for violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act. Investigation showed that Rosanna Hernandez, 51, kagawad of Barangay 107 and resident of 425 Primero De Marso St. was rendering her duty when she received a call about a commotion in front of the suspect’s house on Cementina Street at around 8:50 p.m.

Hernandez, together with her barangay watchmen, responded to the area but upon arrival, they were met by Mapalo who, while armed with caliber .38 revolver and under the influence of liquor, poked his gun at the barangay officials.

For fear of their lives, Hernandez and her watchmen scampered for safety and sought the assistance of P/Lt. Virgilio Maboloc, chief of the Pasay Police Sub-Station 4 who immediately dispatched his men to the area that resulted in the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of cal. 38 revolver with four live bullets tucked in his waist.
