Lolo offers fake NZ jobs to 40 applicants, nabbed

THE Manila Police District (MPD) arrested an alleged illegal recruiter for allegedly promising New Zealand jobs to 40 applicants in exchange for P15,000 placement fees.

Now being held at the MPD-General Assignment and Investigation Section is suspect Efipanio Supapa, 66, of 137 Daang Bakal St., Ampid 1, San Mateo Rizal.

P/ SSg Patrick Gregorio said the suspect was arrested at around 6 p.m. at a fastfood outlet in Malate, Manila.

One of the victims reportedly saw the suspect in the area and sought help from the police.

At the police station, the victims numbering 40 began arriving one by one and told probers that the suspect disappeared after getting their money from them last year.
