Lotto jackpot winner claims P339M prize

THE lone winner of the Ultra Lotto 6/58 draw claimed his prize at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) head office in Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City on Thursday.

PCSO General Manager Royina Garma said the bettor bagged the P339 -million jackpot price using the same digits he had been religiously purchasing for several years..

Garma said the new bettor a senior citizen finally became an instant millionaire. after 25 years of patronizing lotto games.

The bettor guessed the winning combination 18-19-28-09-01-11 with a total jackpot prize of P 339,217,037.00 .

It was drawn on September 6, 2020.

Garma said the bettor bought the ticket at an outlet in Quezon City. He is the second jackpot winner in the lotto games since the implementation of community quarantine measures in mid-March that affected the games’ operations,

The PCSO added that she was told by the new millionaire that hehad been purchasing lotto tickets for nearly 25 years as he started patronizing lotto in 1995.

“Na-shock ako ng malaman ko nanalo ako sa lotto. Ngayon, alam ko na kung paano ko mapapatapos at mabibigyan ng magandang buhay at kinabukasan ang aking mga anak. Alangang numero ko ang mga ito,” the new millionaire told Garma.

Garma added the lucky bettor was given a Land Bank check after he gave he presented his winning ticket and his identification cards.

In accordance with the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, 20 percent tax was automatically deducted from the jackpot.

Therefore, the government will get nearly P68 million or a total of P67, 843, 407.40.

Garma urged the public to keep patronizing their products as a large chunk PCSO’s revenue go directly to its charity programs.

“A large portion of our revenue goes to our charity programs, so please keep on helping our kababayans through PCSO,” she said.
