Thus stressed Mayor Honey Lacuna to all employees working for the city government, as she greeted all Manilans a ‘Happy Valentine’s Day.’

The lady mayor also cited the kind of love for work being displayed by city government workers who continue discharging their functions even during weekends, when everyone else is resting or having various forms of enjoyment.

Lacuna commended the employees from the city engineering office under City Engineer Armand Andres; the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) under Zenaida Viaje and the department of public services employees headed by Kyle Nicole Amuraom, saying their work knows no vacation or holidays.

“Sa tuwi-tuwina, habang tayo ay nage-enjoy ng weekend, meron tayong mga kasama sa ating pamahalaan na patuloy pa rin ang paglilingkod,” she said.

The mayor made special mention of DPS whose employees clean the rivers and esteros, along with the Baseco beach warriors and the ‘estero’ rangers.

Meanwhile, Lacuna said that self-love is important to be able to give to others, as she comforted those who are unattached on Valentine’s Day.

The mayor also urged the city hall-based employees to have their hearts checked as the Manila Health Department headed by Dr. Poks Pangan offer free ECG for those aged 40 or older.

The free ECG may be availed of at the city’s employees’ clinic which will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. up to February 17.

Lacuna also urged the employees to invite their friends to the ‘MayniLove’ in Mehan Garden, which is the city’s Valentine offering for the public. It offers free admission, entertainment, booths selling food and various items and many other gimmicks in celebration of the month of hearts.
