Lapus added that the project involves reactivation of the operations of the MCWD, purchase of tools and equipment, and provision of temporary water supply for returning Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the MAA. The project, estimated at P30,144,507.00, is funded through the Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program (MRRRP) under the FY 2018 National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund (NDRRMF).

The project is expected to be completed in four months, but due to restrictions imposed related to COVID-19, project implementation period was extended and still ongoing to date.
