Mabalacat cops seize P1.7M shabu

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Local police seized some P1.7 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust here before dawn yesterday.

Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon, Police Regional Office 3 director, said two suspects were arrested during the operation. He identified them as Christopher De Leon of Obando, Bulacan, and Ernesto Del Rosario of this city.

Seven pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets of shau with a total weight of 260 grams worth P1.7 million and the peso marked bill used in the buy-bust were confiscated from the suspects.

Lt. Col. Rossel Cejas, city police chief here, said appropriate charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 are being prepared for filing in court against the arrested suspects.

“Thru our revitalized anti-drug campaign in line with the directives of our Chief PNP Gen. Debold Sinas, along with the support of the community even during this pandemic, we continue to yield positive results. As we keep on working double time to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region, we also urge every one to help us in our campaign against illegal drugs,” Brig. Gen. De Leon said.

Meanwhile, the fourth most wanted person in the region was arrested by the police the other day.

De Leon identified the arrested felon as Erick Cruz y Concepcion, who went into hiding in 2008 after killing one Juancho De Leon in San Rafael, Bulacan.

Cruz was arrested by joint operatives of the San Rafael police, Provincial Intelligence Unit of Bulacan PPO, and Regional Intelligence Division by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Jaime V. Samonte, presiding judge of RTC Branch 21 in Malolos for murder docketed under Criminal Case Number 182-M-2009.

The PRO3 director said the Central Luzon Police will not stop hunting down all wanted by law and put them behind the bars of justice as it aims to achieve its goal of safer communities where the public continues to enjoy sound sleep.
