Malabon MWP falls in Masbate

OPERATIVES of the Malabon police arrested one of the most wanted persons in the province of Masbate during a follow-up operation Tuesday morning in Malabon City.

Geraldo Magbanwa, Jr. factory worker and resident of Bgy. Ubo, Balod Masbate City, was arrested by joint elements of the Malabon Police Sub Station-5 and Warrant and Subpoena Section at around 10 a.m. on Blk 13, Lot 5, Paros St., Bgy. Longos.

Magbanwa was the subject of an arrest warrant for four counts of rape issued by Masbate City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Ave Zurbito-Alba of Branch 48 Family Court.

Sub Station 5 chief P/Maj. Venchito Cerillo and Warrant and Subpoena Section head P/Capt. Ferdinand Espiritu said Magbanwa was listed as top 9 Most Wanted Person in Masbate.

In an interview, the accused denied the charges and claimed that he and the victim, who was then 16-year-old when the alleged rape was committed sometime in 2019, were lovers.

Magbanwa claimed he and the victim decided to run away from their province and lived in Bgy. Longos, Malabon after the parents of his supposed girlfriend, who was allegedly against their relationship, filed a complaint of rape against him by forcing his girlfriend to undergo medical examination.
