Man facing frustrated murder raps nabbed

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Operatives under the Criminal Investigation and Detection (CIDG) Group-3 arrested in Guiguinto, Bulacan last Dec. 30, 2020 a man who is facing charges for multiple frustrated murder.

Col. Amante Daro, CIDG-3 officer, identified the arrested suspect as Philip Alcantara alias “Ka Joshua” by virtue of warrants of arrest issued by Judge Arnelo Mesa of the 4th Judicial Region, RTC Branch 65 in Infanta Quezon dated March 5, 2012 and August 13, 2011 for the crimes of multiple frustrated murder under CC No.2011-140-I with bail recommended of P200,000 and multiple attempted murders under CC No. 2011-141-I with recommended bail of P120,000.

Daro said the operation was in line with the CIDG’s Oplan Pagtugis and Oplan Paglalansag Omega.

The suspect was arrested in Bgy. Panginay where he resides and works as an helper in a glass and aluminum shop.

The operation was conducted by the CIDG-Bulacan with the support of the Police Regional Office 3 and the Intelligence Service of the AFP.

Seized were a black knapsack bag containing a cal. .45 Colt pistol with serial no. 523760, Armscor cal. .45 pistol without serial number, hand grenade, three magazines for cal .45, 28 epieces of ammo for a cal .45, identification cards and leftist reading materials.

The inventory of following seized evidence was witnessed by barangay officials.

Alcantara will be turned over to the court that issued the warrants against him.
