A MAN died on the spot when shot by an unknown assailant while walking on the highway in Bgy. Inosluban, Lipa City, Batangas, Tuesday night.
A security guard of the Metro Lipa Medical Center called a duty desk officer of the Lipa City Police Station informing that a victim of a shooting incident was brought to the hospital.
P/Lt Col. Antonio G. Rotol, Lipa City police chief, identified the slain victim as Rene Olan Dimayuga.
Initial investigation showed the victim was walking along JP Laurel Highway, Purok 5, in Bgy. Inosluban at around 8:50 p.m. when an unidentified suspect/s shot him in the head, killing him on the spot.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
