A 40-YEAR-OLD man wanted for statutory rale was nabbed by combined elements of the Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHT) Sta Cruz and Kalayaan police on Saturday morning in Bgy. Longos, Kalayaan, Laguna.
Laguna Provincial Director Police Col. Serafin Petalio II identified the arrested suspect as Sherwin Mendoza, a native of Sitio Bagumbayan, Sta Cruz, Laguna.
Mendoza was arrested after 6 moths in hiding.
Sta Cruz, Laguna chief PLt. Col. Chitadel Gaoiran, said the suspect was listed as the province’s 2nd most wanted man and Sta. Cruz’s most wanted crime suspect.
Mendoza was collared on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Suwerte Ofrecio, Branch 6 of the Family in Sta Cruz, Laguna.
Records showed that the suspect has been accused of raping his seven-year-old niece while she was taking a bath last February.
The suspect is detained at the Sta. Cruz PNP Lock Up Cell and no bail recommended fir his temporary liberty.
