A 41-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by three unidentified men while he was buying cigarettes from a variety store in Baseco, Port Area, Manila the other day.
Ariel Mendoza, of Compound 9, Mauban St., Barangay Manresa, Quezon City, died on the spot while the suspects who escaped, remain unkown.
A probe by PSSg John Paul Rojo of the Manila Police District-homicide section said the shooting took place at around 8:30 a.m. at Block 12, Barangay 649, Baseco Compound, Port Area.
A witness told the police that the victim was merely buying cigarettes when the three suspects arrived and without a word or provocation, suddenly began firing at the victim at close range, hitting him in the head and body.
Police are looking into the motive of the killing.
