A 28-year-old man facing frustrated murder charges was nabbed by operatives from the Manila Police District-Raxabago Police Station.

LtCol. Rosalino Ibay, Jr., chief of the MPD-Station 1, said that suspect Benjie Estubio Caballegan, of Bonifacio Street, Barangay 101, Tondo, Manila, also happens to be the ‘Top 2 Most Wanted Person’ (station level).

Ibay said the arrest was made at around 1 p.m. on November 25, 2022 along Minuyho St., Barangay San Jose, San Juan, Southern Leyte.

It was learned that operatives of the warrant and intel section of Raxabago Police Station led by PLt. Joseph Villaranca, under the supervision of Ibay, together with elements of San Juan Municipal Police Station led by PCapt. Wilferdo Camaso, Jr. and the MDIT-RUI-NCR led by PMaj. Danilo Malab conducted the joint police operation which resulted in the arrest of the accused.

The arrest was made pursuant to a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Rebecca Austria Guillen-Ubana of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 40 dated November 7, 2022 with Criminal Case No. R-MNL-18-08220-CR.

The said joint operation stemmed from the Intelligence Packet provided by MDIT-RIU-NCR that led to the whereabouts of the accused.

Caballegan is now detained at the San Juan Municipal Police Station custodial facility in San Jose, San Juan City, Southern Leyte.

Pertinent documents for the transfer of the said accused to MPD PS-1 Raxabago Tondo Police Station, Tondo, Manila and the return of warrant of arrest to the court of origin are being prepared as of this writing.
