Man who killed minor surrenders in San Juan

A 20-YEAR-OLD man who killed a minor over a fight with a girl turned himself over to the authorities in San Juan city on Monday.

Mayor Francis Zamora said the suspect, Marvin Ferreras, of Bgy St. Joseph, was accompanied by his mother to his office at the City Hall.

According to the mayor, Ferreras has been accused of stabbing 17-year-old John Clarence Buena past midnight on November 2 at 3rd West St, West Crame after the suspect and the victim reportedly figured in a fight over the suspect’s former girlfriend.

The victim sustained two stab wounds in the back and was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center in Quezon City for treatment.

However, the victim succumbed to his wounds two days later.

A few days after the incident, the suspect’s mother reached out to Vice Mayor Warren Villa. The mother wanted the Vice Mayor to ask Mayor Zamora to take her son into custody and assure his safety when turned over to the police,” the local government said in statement.

The mayor assured the mother of her son’s safety after coordinating with San Juan Police chief Col. Jaime Santos.

Zamora has turned over the suspect to the custody of the San Juan Police.
