THE city government of Manila broke ground to what will become its largest LGU pharmacy warehouse.

Mayor Honey Lacuna thanked Congressman Benny Abante, Jr. (6th District) for his effort in helping her administration which had been operating on a budget saddled with a P17.8 billion debt left behind by ex-mayor Isko Moreno.

She announced that in partnership with the office of Rep. Abante and the Department of Health (DOH) the city of Manila will have its largest warehouse of medicines for the local government’s use to aid in the city’s continuous prioritization of health care.

Lacuna and Abante, Jr. were joined by DOH Usec. Dr. Emmie Liza Perez-Chiong and Manila City Health Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan during the groundbreaking ceremony at the Isidro Mendoza Health Center construction site in Pandacan.

“Aside from the initiation of the construction of the pharmacy warehouse, the construction of the newly improved Isidro Mendoza Health Center is another much awaited feat, with the completion expected around April 2025.

As a doctor, Lacuna said she fully understands the residents’ need for cheap and accessible medicines.
