OVER one million visitors trooped to the Manila North Cemetery (MNC) on November 1, All Saints’ Day. The MNC being administered by Yayay Castaneda is the biggest in the country.
Manila Police District (MPD) Director Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay said that based on their monitoring, a total of 1,015,000 people have visited the MNC as of 5:30 p.m.
Ibay said that 76,300 were registered to have visited the Manila South Cemetery while the Manila Chinese Cemetery registered 6,050 visitors, both as of 3 p.m.
According to Ibay, the situation in the said cemeteries was generally peaceful.
