Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna thus made this call to all city officials and employees during her message at Monday’s flagraising ceremony in City Hall, hosted by City Engineer Moises Alcantara where she also lauded the City Engineer’s Office headed by Engr. Moises Alcantara for constantly reporting to her the numerous accomplishments being done by those working in the said office.
On this note, the mayor called on the employes and officials of Manila to start the week right by enjoying their jobs in order to accomplish many things, instead of treating their duties as work.
She stressed that those in government should consider themselves fortunate, as not everyone is given the golden opportunity to be of service and of help to others.
In view of the approaching Valentine’s Day this week, Alcantara offered the mayor a bouquet of flowers and also gave roses to the women who attended the flagraising ceremony.
At the end of her short message, Lacuna elicited laughter from those present when she delivered her usual Valentine’s Day ‘hugot line’: “Sa mga malulungkot, wala ka mang ka-date sa Valentine’s Day, ang mahalaga, sanay ka na.”
