Mayor Honey Lacuna has ordered that the city-run Manila North Cemetery (MNC) and Manila South Cemetery (MSC) be closed to the public on Saturday due to tropical storm “Paeng.”

According to the mayor’s spokesperson, Atty. Princess Abante, Lacuna also issued a directive to suspend classes in all levels in the city, owing to the expected onslaught of severe tropical storm “Paeng”.

The twin orders were also based on the advisory of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) placing Metro Manila under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2.

Abante said that based on the mayor’s directive, the classes that have been suspended covers face-to-face as well as online and up to the evening.

Meanwhile, Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office head Arnel Angeles and the Manila social welfare department under Re Fugoso were also alerted for immediate response deployment, when needed.
